"Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work."
Dr. John Trainer
Here at Lenoir Presbyterian Church we LOVE families.
The Children's Ministry comes along side parents and caregivers in the discipleship of their children through teaching resilient faith, belonging, and biblical literacy. We aim to prepare them to navigate an ever-changing world through a never-ending hope in Christ.
Children's Ministry at LPC consists of Nursery, Sunday School, Children's Church, and Family Events. Nursery is for birth through four-year-olds and is staffed by familiar faces every week. Sunday School and Children's Church are for elementary ages and use the Brite Curriculum by Awana Club International. Every lesson is taught by a Children's Director or volunteer from the congregation. We strive to read the Bible, hear God's truths, and connect the Bible stories to Jesus in ways that kids can understand and apply in their own lives.
Outside of Sunday mornings, we hope to foster community and fellowship through our Children's Ministry events. Our annual events include: VBS, Advent Festival, an Easter Celebration and Family Camp.

Sunday Mornings
Nursery
Childcare is available every Sunday from birth to four years old in our nursery during Sunday School and services. It is located behind a locked door on the 1st floor Education Hall. Please use the Google Ring to buzz into the classroom area. We have two paid childcare workers in the middle classroom across from the bathrooms who will greet you and walk you through any further questions you may have.
Please be sure to sign your child in on our check-in sheet, leaving your emergency contact number and notifying the nursery staff of any allergies or extra needs your child has. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Kori or Jessica. We want you to be comfortable and well informed of our childcare policies and procedures.

Preschool Through Elementary
Children's Sunday School
Children's Sunday School classes are divided by age into younger and older classes and are located on the 2nd Floor Education Hall.
Each Class is led by two adult volunteers through teaching, interactive games, and activities that reinforce our Bible story from Children's Church.
Parents are to pick up and drop off their students to their Sunday School class and communicate to the adult leaders if an adult other than the parents or guardian are authorized that day for pick up.

Children's Church
Children will be dismissed from both services to attend Children's Church. A Children's Ministry Director and another adult volunteer will lead the students to the Children's Chapel located on the 1st Floor Education Hall across from Nursery.
During Children's Church we will lead students through the Bible Story with activities, teaching, games and videos. They will also learn a memory verse each month.
First Service children will be returned to the Fellowship Hall at the end of service. Second Service children will be picked up from the Children's Chapel by parents or guardians at the end of service.

Child Safety Policy
We value safety and transparency when it comes to protecting our little ones. All volunteers and staff receive background checks. Childcare Nursery Staff and Church Staff are certified in first-aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. Children's Ministry Directors conduct training of the congregation through our child safety procedures, and all volunteers are required to be trained before serving. Two adults are required at all times when supervising children and youth to ensure visibility, accountability, and behavior that is above reproach in all circumstances. Below is a link to the full child safety policy of our church.

Resources
There are more biblical and theologically founded tools, books, curriculums, and apps for discipling our children than ever before! Ask us anytime about our recommendations.
Brite is founded by Awana Clubs International. This curriculum is used in both our Sunday School and Children's Church. Each week we send home a Take-Home-Sheet with the Bible Story, Brite Idea, and memory verse we are learning. Try asking them questions about the lesson or helping them memorize our monthly verse!
RightNow Media is a biblical and Christian based streaming service! You can find video series, movies, and shows for any age. Email Jessica at jessica@lenoirpres.org to gain free access through our congregation or to get more information.
ChildDiscipleship.com through Awana provides families with free Bible-based child discipleship resources and ideas every Friday. These biblically rich resources provide intentional opportunities for conversation as a family so you can talk faith anytime and anywhere.
Axis.org equips parents to disciple their teens. They are committed to equipping you with biblical resources like culture translation and conversation skills to disciple your teen toward a lifelong faith in Jesus.
